Good to hear. Amazing how the virus acts so differently on different bodies.

And also amazing how some, perhaps many, don't even contract the virus despite prolonged, direct contact with an infected person. I'm living proof.

There's always random genetics. But with covid it more likely has to do with some past exposure to some other coronavirus that gave your system enough of a head-start to prevail easily.

Entirely likely. I had a moderate cold about a month before my wife contracted the Big C. I also believe that because of normal to high levels of vitamin D in my blood work, overall excellent health, and routine exposure to all sorts of nasties through regular international travel, my immune system is stronger than most.

Google "COVID cross immunity". A lot of interesting stuff pops up.

From a recent study published in the BMJ:

At least six studies have reported T cell reactivity against SARS-CoV-2 in 20% to 50% of people with no known exposure to the virus.

Got my second dose of the Moderna couple weeks ago. General achy feely for 24 hours that was mitigated by Tylenol. No fever. Hopefully this gets us all moving toward normalcy.

Default Moderna

I got both shots of the Moderna . 1st one no issues other than sore arm . 2nd one sore arm then 8 days later than developed a rash just under the injection site they call it covid arm but it disappeared in a day but that was all. a female friend got J@J she got a bad rash all over her upper body that drove her nuts for 2 weeks but was ok after that. I have to say I am not an anti vaxxer by any means but I did have issues and almost backed out while waiting in line but decided to go ahead. This is fairly new technology and we don't know how long the efficacy is yet. I don't trust the media or the government. Pushing these vaccines and telling us it's the only way to herd immunity but totally not adding the people who have had covid as being part of the equation. Fauci this guy has been all over the map and moving the goalposts daily he has no credibility in my world. But I do know a lot of people who had covid the majority of them it was a bad flu a few had no symptoms at all and a few wound up in the hospital for weeks and one died he was 57 no pre existing conditions got blood clots and stroked out. This virus is very unpredictable in how it reacts in people. I have a fair amount of co morbidities I know if I get covid at my age (57) it might not go well for me. Life is a risk assessment exercise you balance your risk vs reward. In my case it made sense to get the vaccine plus I have been on a ventilator once I will never go on one again. But I do believe it is a personal choice. Most people here (N Mississippi) a fair amount have said no way to the shot. Most of my friends did get it a few opted not too. I understand both positions.

Now we are hearing that an airline’s vaccine rate may determine if people get let out of hotel rooms overseas. So... we may end up in a position where people refuse to fly with anti-vaxers because they’ll be locked in their rooms if they do.

Interesting problem. Any military person should know this vaccine (all western versions) have more data behind them than every flu shot we took annually for x years.

Ask India how herd immunity is going without vaccine. I can anecdotally say their obesity rate is less than US.

I can't keep track - is the US doing so much worse than the other countries that it is an embarrassment, or so much better that the other countries should be doing exactly what we do? Is Texas bad or good? Did the Sturgis rally make for the end of the world? and when is that Category Five COVID Storm that was brewing off the coast coming? Wasn't that due a few weeks ago?
