The first bailout was entirely warranted, they thought it would blow over by October. And as it’s been said despite thinking people are at home being paid 200k to do nothing, it’s a small percentage. The vast majority of those being laid off are not making that much money, it would have been terrible through no fault of their own. I think the saving grace is that the industry is considered essential to those in power. The second bailout was probably a combination of the first notion as well to keep the confidence going in the country regarding path to normalcy. Last thing people want to see is tens of thousands of workers being laid off, that’s not a very good look for the economy. The third bailout I guess considers that there really is light at the end of the tunnel, why lay off only to rehire again.

...Fly on any international carrier and they at least do a temp check and ask you questions about recent symptoms - not on US carriers though - it's merely printed on your ticket and zero temp checks. Stay at home orders? Clearly that's not an issue as airlines continue to fly...with passengers....
really get people worked up, since the alternative, being realistic about a virus that predominantly effects the infirm and elderly (and for the young is arguably Less dangerous than the flu?)

temp checks. Hilarious. Only 30% of people hospitalized with Covid in NY had fevers when admitted. Yet another stupid measure, good only to show we are “doing something” to placate the ignorant. Your solution is what, better theatre to go with the panic porn?

in 2018 there were 643 deaths from the flu under 18
So if his definition of younger is under 18 he is right. Above 18 the CDC uses different age brackets for COVID and the flu.

I asked which industries were hit as hard as airlines while simultaneously being vital to the economy. Are you telling me "all of them" is your answer? Please follow up. You won't though because you only post 1 or 2 sentence replies to everything with no substance whatsoever. I will commend you on your red Forman role play however. Snarky anecdotal remarks from the cheap seats like a heckler at a baseball game. Congrats.
I'll tee it up for you so you can squeeze out 3 or maybe 4 sentences: Airlines are essential to the recovery of the economy as well as sustaining said economy after it recovers. As sad as it is some guy who owns a comic book store in Bozeman is not. Restaurants have been hit just as hard as airlines. How do you bail out "restaurants"? How long would it take the govt to put together a program like that? Every restaurant in the country would apply for a portion of the money? A large percentage of restaurants are very poorly run and may have faltered eventually even if COVID never happened. The govt will have no way to vet whether or not a restaurant is going to responsibly use their money. How much would be wasted? 60% of "startup" restaurants fail within a year and 80% within 5 years. The same can be said for many other industries. The task is just too big and the upside vs money spent is too low. Airlines are easy and politically visible. Bailing out the guy in Bozeman is not.

according to the CDC website so far there have been 295 COVID deaths under 18
in 2018 there were 643 deaths from the flu under 18
So if his definition of younger is under 18 he is right. Above 18 the CDC uses different age brackets for COVID and the flu.

Show me case fatality rates in those age groups. Not totals.
Skywatch is still wrong. And still crying.
