I mean, I think the point that Antipeter made was that Fauci had "predicted" a huge spike to swallow up Florida and Texas when they relaxed restrictions, and that never happened. And your response is to smugly post another recent article with him cautioning not to relax too early...bad things could happen...I don't get how that is all connected is all. Everyone wants it to be clear cut. We are at risk of a 4th wave. That risk is now diminishing due to better than expected vaccine delivery.

What was said in February was true at the moment it was said. 4th wave was likely due to relaxing behavior. It is still probable, just not as severe.

These are not complicated concepts to follow. But people are foaming at the the mouth because the predictions don't pan out exactly as they should.

Another thing to consider.. The mitigation after a warning changes the trajectory. And that really sets the knuckledraggers off.

Cool. Most people are, by making their own decisions and ignoring this quack. People are traveling. Grandparents are hugging their grandchildren. Red states are opening. Life is going on.

560k dead is about the number statistically that everyone in America should know a COVID fatality.

I'm thinking about starting a poll, but I want to see if the most cavalier among us (you) have seen COVID up close.

Two people in their 90's, one in their 80's and one in their 40's.

And of course, a whoooooooole lot more that got sick and recovered. Most likely including me.

I'm not sure how the continued survival of others makes the deaths of loved ones less tragic.

If some of you tried the sh*t you say on APC at a funeral, you'd be thrown out.

"I'm sorry for your loss. But cheer up. 7 billion people survived today."

I'm sorry for the loss of the 4 people you knew. I know of at least 3, 1 personally who have passed from COVID.

I think if we asked around, everyone on this forum would know someone.

I don't know anyone who has died FROM it or even WITH it. And there IS a difference.

But I know a dozen or so who have had it, including my decidedly better half. She is fully recovered and has no lingering issues despite being 62 with moderate, pre-existing COPD. Only one of the ones we know was hospitalized. She's 74 and is now fine.

I also know about a dozen physicians and health care professionals in my extended family and direct circle of friends. To a person, they agree that the virus is potentially serious for those with co-morbidities but the hysterical, anti-science reaction by the big media and big government establishment has been largely counterproductive.

You are good at redirecting. Antipeter posted something about how wrong Fauci was with his prediction, which a person in possession of all their faculties might conclude makes his future predictions less credible.

You smugly post a link to another article with a similar theme but toned down and now four months later, and ignoring his earlier doomsday predictions, and act like that somehow proves your point - again, with smug.

You get called on that (I guess? Still don’t get your point) and your response is to say “well these predictions are hard.” Yet you act like his subsequent predictions are valid and worthy of our unconditional obedience despite all this. Man you want to be right so bad I really believe you will argue anything at this point, no matter how ridiculous.
