Just because I’m pro vaccine doesn’t mean I don’t realize the benefits of natural immunity. And if my doctor or someone I trust tells me to take ivermectin I will.

While true, they typically don't approve a medication within 24 hours of an EUA being issued. There is a process for these things and it normally takes months.

Default Vaccine Mandate Exemption

Has anyone bothered to look at Portugal (and some of the other highly vax countries) and looked at what their recent numbers are? They look good, of course another variant could wipe all that out, but for right now it does look like the higher the vax rate the lower the covid numbers.

The problem is that it is always offered as a binary choice. Vaccinated or not. Given the demographics of this country, and the co morbidities that lead to death being prevalent amongst much of the population, I would say that a significant portion of the population needs to be vaccinated. Perhaps even the majority. That is not the question at hand. The question is whether anyone will bother to recognize that naturally acquired immunity is a thing, and that is has value, quite possibly on par with vaccines, in deterring or reducing the effects of a Covid infection. That…is following the science. Proffering the only options as vaccination or sure death, which is how this is depicted by many including our ever reliable and trustworthy government is fear mongering.

Are you above the age of 60? You need to get vaccinated. 70 odd percent of all Covid deaths are concentrated in those age brackets. Do you have certain co morbidities, and are younger than 60? You need to get vaccinated. Are you one of the unicorns out there who has dodged Covid for 18 months, but don’t match up with the above conditions? You should think about getting the vaccine. Are you Covid recovered, under 60 and have none of the leading co morbidities? You’re fine, and should consider getting vaccination if naturally acquired immunity is shown to wane at a significantly faster rate than that of vaccination.

In the meantime, if you are in the latter group, you shouldn’t tolerate the denigration of anyone who thinks you’re crazy for wanting to see the long term side effects, or not, of these rapidly produced shots and medications.

And everyone should be suggesting a giant “Go F Yourself” to any persons or government entities trying to force vaccination, vaccination passports, Covid registries or any of that other fascist BS on anyone.

Good point. I’m not saying it’s right or wrong. I’m speaking on the issue that as pilots we already let the government have some control over our individual health choices. The notion that we should all be outraged that the government is telling us what to do with our health if we want to keep our jobs is not a new concept for me. I’m not all for it, but I’m also not willing to lose my job over it or even fall into the: “it’s a slippery slope category, because we started that a long time ago.

I get your point. We agreed to submit to a medical evaluation 1-2 times a year, listing any and all procedures, visits and diagnosis we have had in our life while accepting most things besides aspirin will be prohibited by the FAA overlords. Subject to random and non refusal pee testing on their whim for drugs and alcohol.

The fact people think we aren’t under government control is the same as people not realizing we have been living in a socialist government since the 1950s, and probably before that.
