I think comparing cruise ships in international waters is not a good indicator of future policy on airplanes. My crystal ball says summer at the earliest and that's only if it's incontrovertible that the wave has not just peaked but ended.

They are losing control in many areas but have unchallenged control over aviation. Expect them to use it.

Up here in liberal CT, people are over it, right left center, you name it, people are done, schools aren't closing, they are not shutting down, only those unvaccinated or popping positive are sent home for just five days....and those pesky rapid tests that are useless and never-to-be-trusted before...are the primary way of judging if you have covid (symptoms or not)...Hell even look at what the CDC director put out on twitter...
I'm not saying it will end 18 March like the next "deadline" is...but it will be well before midterms...

Just for clarity, that was edited on ABC for airtime. The point of her statement that was missing was highlighting vaccine effectiveness. The 75% was referring to vaccinated individuals, highlighting that the vaccines had protected most except for the very sick.
