I’m catching wind of a story about Ed telling a group of LCAs last week that he helped push Airbus to buy Bombardier. As the story goes, the original 80% tariff was a pawn in Boeing’s chess match to get Bombardier to sell themselves to Boeing. As the news got worse with the higher tariffs I️ guess it ****ed Ed off enough so he persuaded Airbus to make the move.
Also, I’ve heard we are pressing Bombardier to change the entire C Series order to the 300.

Trust the source or not but the guy was at the meeting and practically quoted Ed. There’s no skin off my back if you don’t.
So, I️ have to ask. What would this LCA gain by lying or even remotely embellishing a story like this? Are you accusing him of lying? I️ had never met the guy before having this conversation with him. I️ didn’t even get into the conversation until he mentioned the AE. I️ pointed out what the latest the company has said about a January AE, but he was confident the info he was given was good. Again, take it or leave it.
I️ passed along what I️ hear like I️ do some times. It was a crew room conversation. It’s irrelevant to me if this turns out to be true as I️ wasn’t involved in the making of the story.

He gains nothing by pretending to be in the know. Certainly not in my eyes as I️ thought I️ already made clear.
I️ always take these things at face value. My posting this here isn’t an endorsement from me. Just passing it along.

Many people are generally full of crap.... some like to embellish, some like to feel important, some like to make stuff up to see others reactions. You should believe very little of what you hear.

So the two people in all of this that are full of crap are the CEO and a LCA. Got it.
I️ don’t need a lesson in what to believe. I’ve never presented this as sacrosanct and absolute gospel.
I’m a trust but verify kind of guy so don’t worry about me. I️ can’t believe I’ve been put on the defensive all because I️ relayed something I️ happen to hear during a chance encounter.

The only reason you are on the defensive is because you are choosing to engage when you should ignore.
You heard first hand some interesting information and passed it along to an internet forum where this sort of information is highly desired. Your information could be spot on, dead wrong, could have been correct but DAL management changed their minds 5 times since you reported it etc.
Most forumites appreciate this type of information - yes some guys will always be negative, but Hell if I say the sky is blue someone will point out why I am wrong.
Keep passing along the juicy information - we can sort it all out.

Second, pressing the order to 300... at what price? The same 1/3 the cost to manufacture that brought on the tariffs in the first place?
