If we're REALLY being fair, we seem to be changing the jumpseat comm panels first. I guess that's the easiest one for maintenance to swap out? Surely the one on the overhead isn't a spill threat. I may just start pilot monitoring from the jumpseat instead of up front, so I don't need a rubber band anymore.
Is anyone surprised drinks are spilled? There's a single cup holder per seat. Choose whether you use it for the cup or the can - can't hold both. Was this also a problem in the 60s, or did that single slot use to meet the crews' needs?

As far as a second cupholder, some airlines have a second one, but it goes where our audio panel is. The audio panels go in the center console in that case. I believe the reason we can't have ours there is due to the amount of options we have installed in the center console. The full sized printer and phone are a big part of it.

You'll love the answer to the first part. When maintenance ordered the new panels they forgot there is a 3rd one on every airframe and didn't order enough. What usually happens is one of the panels is written up, and the observer panel is swapped with it to get the plane moving. Down the line the observer panel is replaced with a new one and you now have a hot mike observer panel. They are supposed to be coming out with instructions for the hot mike panel to go in pilot positions first, but if they have already then not all of them got the message. You can have them swap the panels at a hub, it doesn't take long.

Personally, I don't actually need another cupholder. I have started pouring my drink in the bin for the auxiliary light cord and I connect 5 straws together to drink from it without even bending over.

Should be a simple answer, but I can’t find it...or the source data at least
How’s the reliability of the new jet (A220/CS100)? I’ve heard some say it’s a brand new jet and nothing is ever broken, and others say engine failures and many MEL’s....?
Just curious of actual metrics.... looks like a great bird on paper and ramp presence, but still curious on the actual data points.
Carry on with the knocks, want to know what sticks to be called “growing pains”.

I have a few questions about the 220:
Will the toilet seat stay up?
No
Will a 5’11” Pilot occasionally whack his head on the overhead?
On the HUD plastic panel where no HUD is installed, often
Do the sun visors actually block the sun?
After you unscrew them from the aft rail and re-screw them onto the forward rail, no.
Will a 1950s trim wheel try to occasionally take out my knee?
Ha.
In cruise does it sound and feel like 2 guys in phone both during a hurricane?
No, but it does make orca whale sounds during taxi.
Does it come equipped with the fancy luggage works bag shredder destruction device?
Nope, that’s good.
Is it possible to dispense paper towels 1 at a time or do you have a choice between 20 or more or less than 20 but ripped to shreds?
Haven’t tried.
Is the intercom rubber band powered?
Nope.
Is the Lav sized for human beings or hobbits?
Normal humans
Does it offer the same Seat position options as the 737s? Full Fwd with recline or anything other than full Fwd with no recline?
Pretty decent seats

Real men of the greatest generation drank straight from the cans. Not those fancy snowflake aluminum cans. Tin cans. That rusted inside.
