What do U think of your BIG ALPA dues refund?
 

I never expected much from ALPA, but this "refund" is pathetic. What a joke...obviously its merely a gesture just to say "see, look what we did for you!" $25,000 in dues paid over the last 4 years, and my total refund is a few hundred bucks.

Our dues rate should be lowered....ALPA survived just fine on dues paid during bankruptcy when we were all earning far less. They take in far more now under our current rates. I know they need money to help the pilots of our competitors (LOL), but shouldn't our dues rate be reduced now?

How low should it be? The MCF saved our bacon during the lost decade, so should we replenish it before we cut dues?

Not bad, you averaged over 325,000 a year! You must have broke 400,000 last year!

I'd say that was a good ROI on his dues.

Only an airline pilot could beotch about making 300-400 grand and getting back "only" a couple hundred dollars. :rolleyes:

A lot less than -1.9%.

The OP has a very valid point - ALPA dues can and should be lowered. I would say 1% should be the goal.

With recent industry pay increases ALPA dues receipts must be soaring so why not lower the rates?

Not cool complaining about a refund.

However, I agree the dues should be lowered.

Talking about how they help our competitors it's called pattern bargaining. Just don't tell someone at the regionals for the last 10 years, ALPA is and always was an advocate for mainline contracts only. Regionals were an afterthought and ALPA regional carriers were whipsawed for years. Only now is it starting to get better, no thanks to ALPA.

I love it, "Lower." Can any of the "lower" crowd tell us what an appropriate level for the OCF and MCF should be?

Quick observation....Why are the guys using the system to their advantage and making significantly more than the average line pilot usually the biggest complainers?
