At Delta pilot hiring is done by Pilot Selection which is inside Flight Ops, not HR.
For those that interview with a bad result and are eligible to reinterview in 6 months I highly recommend you stay off social media and keep hiring thoughts to yourself.

AA doesn't belong there. For every 100 pilot slots, about 50 for military. They all have PIC. Then 35 slots for their flow programs at Envoy, PSA, Piedmont. Most of those guys are 10+ yr regional guys in lost decade with lots of PIC. That leaves 15 slots for true OTS hires, and an overwhelming majority have TPIC. It is rare to have 0 PIC at AA right now.

Delta's share of exmil plus mil+regional is also higher than at AA.

Most guys at ASA I know don’t even have apps in...they’re aware of the bias. Personally, I think I’d make a great FO. That being said, I wouldn’t waste time with DL and I’m in my early 40s. Too old.

Great thinking--you can't lose if you don't play.

I know multiple people that made the jump from ASA to Delta. The bias is nonsense. It's someone trying to protect their ego and come up with an explanation for why they haven't gotten the call. Just like the people that think it's because they are male, or Caucasian, or weren't military.

Put the app in. Nothing wagered, nothing gained. And 40 isn't too old. Yeah, you won't retire as an A350 captain, but what's so bad about narrowbody captain making $250k with a 16% 401k contribution? Sure sound better than ASA.

DL has hired 4000(+?) since Jan 2014. Unless you say "proportionately speaking" , DL doesn't have less pilots than UA or AA that have 0 PIC since the hiring wave started this decade. Most of the zero PICs are under 35. IIRC, AA only has about 200-250 total pilots under 35 out of 15,000+

Look at the retirement numbers and think again.
