NRT Departures

So how many minimum contractual NRT departures did we have for the company to code share before the Apple Dumpling Gang gave it all away?
Has anyone noticed the growth of our codeshare/JV partners vs ours? Bangkok, Taipei, Guam... whats next? Manila, Saipan, Singpore, Palau? These JVs our saving our bacon!

Even our current MEC chairman praised the agreement netting Pacific wide protections as a excellent accomplishment after the fact although strangely he voted against it.

EXCELLENT ACCOMPLISHMENTS...
Just what I was thinking. We were being sold this concept of overflying the NRT hub and doing it from SEA. Good thing Korean Air is saving us because we forgot to put these NRT overflights on the schedule.

The reality is we had none. The entire agreement on minimum departures was based on allowing the company to code share on a couple of routes to NRT from Far East destination. Those routes in total generated around 250,000 a year in revenue. The company only had to stop those codeshares and our flight requirements out of NRT would have been zero.

At some point behavior like this is going to cost us some serious coin.

The expected sour grapes whining is just part of the background noise now.

It'll be interesting to revisit this convo in a couple years when SEA is built up, the 330NEOs arrived, and Profits flowing. We might even have the 787 ordered by then too since the ER can't last forever. #KeepClimbingDelta

Time will tell. If optics drags C2019 into 2023 then yes it will cost is money. If not, then you are correct.
