I just noticed on the (flimsy) artists rendering on Airbus' release that the 321NEO is in the new space-flex layout. Doors 2L/R are removed; 2 overwing exits are used and a smaller door 3L/R inserted - so technically you can have a layout that goes from 1L/R uninterrupted to 4L/R.
Can't you just see marketing do that? I know the planned layout is 197 but you'd have to assume there's a lav or 2 at 3L/R and maybe for our FA friends somewhere to put away the trash (see the 32K) in the space-flex galleys. |

High value customers love the 757 because we board and deplane from 2L. I hoped we might work that out on the A321. I guess it's not a option.

The door we have is capable of it, but our seating configuration doesn’t allow for it.

New 321s might not have 2 and 3 doors.
|
I'm on the bus, and the 321 is a great plane. But having a 2L door that you still can't use is frustrating indeed, especially when 192 pax take forever to deplane.
Airbus should have spent a little more time in the design phase and made the 2L door the default boarding door like the 757. That is a huge difference in the boarding and unloading experience, not to mention catering, cabin service etc Sent from my SM-G900T3 using Tapatalk |

You Yanks are just wimpy.:D Actually that's a cool set up. They rope off the forward jetway and just use it for catering, agents and crew. Very efficient, those Germans! And they make great cars! |

If this is what being an Air(euro)bus pilot does to you, I'm going to have to reconsider some life choices.

Looks like another 5 321CEOs were put on order as part of the greater 100NEO deal. Anybody else know more about this?
Orders and deliveries See paragraph 3. |

Orders and deliveries See paragraph 3. Edit: Looks like 30-35 per year for the next few years... |

Side note: Did you notice the blurb in there on Polish Wizzair? Wow, thats a huge order! They werent even flying 15 years ago, and here they are with 88 jets and 280+ on order. Their A321NEOs have more seats than our 757-300 of which they have 184 on order. Thats a big threat to the European local theater. How long till they try and cross the Atlantic?
LOL I'll put money down that they don't take any where near this amount of aircraft.. but, looks great for Airbus and Wizzair which usually translates to a Happy Stock Market, whichever country you're in! Motch |

Wizz Air is owned by the same Indigo Partners group that owns Frontier, JetSmart, and Volaris. That order you reference was part of a larger 430 aircraft order spread amongst all 4 airlines. |
A321NEO = angels printin' money

So the question in 1 or 2 years for the negotiating committee will be, does the 321 move to 757 pay rates? If the argument centers around passengers being moved per jet, this could be an interesting point to be made. The plan for the NEO with the ACF configuration is 197 pax seats I believe. Thoughts?

I was just talking with a guy that is finishing up his 321NEO checkout at HA.
The Pratt motors take up to 4 minutes to start! It tries to get the temperature nice and even by cooling some parts and running hot oil to warm up other parts. The great news is they are 35k... just shy of the 757! |

Standby for folding wingtips and the 3 wheel axle. :)
Most with experience operating reduction gearbox engines are familiar with stabilizg temps. Oh...and a little thing called a 'chips light' :) |
There goes Pratt ...
|
... and there goes Whitney.
|
They do have the coolest logo.
The gtf is the future. Growing pains and all. :) my question is does it have an EPR gage? |
Airbus has produced double bogey A320s in the past, I’m not sure the penalties. All of these aspects combined could be a 757 replacement.

We're running ATL-LAX now with them with no performance issues... more power and going a lot farther on the same fuel would help, wouldn't it? |

As to the wheels and wings, we will put that over there on the a321 can't fly to the west coast trips, won't be ordered, can't sit as many, can't cross the pond and whatever other dumb thing it was said it can't do. Delta has 220 or so on order, 320 possibly. Of just 321s. |
