Your Luckenbach Texas based flight crew says let's go back.

I should saying "you're Cumming flight crew."

Because it's true when I fly with another pilot from Cumming ga. We are a Cumming flight crew.

Your Timbuktu based flight crew thanks you for flying with us today. We’ve come a long way just to take you on a ride.

Since I commute to the ATL, I don’t mention my base, instead, I say where I live, (small town in central FL). I’m amazed at the amount of neighbors I’ve met as they exit the airplane. “So you’re the guy that flies for Delta!”

But I keep the welcome aboard PA as short as possible, because I commute and I’ve heard way too many long winded morons spewing about their military careers, total fight time, etc, etc.

KISS principle when it comes to PA’s. Only after 8am and before 10pm. Think before speaking, no uh....uh....uh.....uh’s.
Do not report the weather like a ATIS report.....cloudy, sunny, partly cloudy, temp, precipitation, wind.

Your post annoyed me. The fact that you’re watching a movie annoys me. All the other posters annoyed me. I find I’m annoyed a lot lately by little stuff. Who cares about your post? Respectfully, your Mustang Ranch, NV based fellow poster.

I’m advocating for boxing announcer style intros on the PA.
“And nowwwww, clocking in with 14,000 hours, flying out of Tulsa, Oklahoma, the hyper four-striper.....”

Fun fact, the passengers don’t care about the wind...agree with all the rest though

Wind as “Windy”, not direction or speed, especially in knots.
Not sure if people care about taking off or landing on a certain runway (27L)
I usually throw in gate info at the larger airports.
#1 thing that bugs the snot out of me, after the door shuts at gate, then 5 min later the FA’s announcements are over and we are still sitting at gate then another 5-10 min go by still no movement and no dang PA.

I keep all my PAs short, especially since most of our planes have live entertainment. And my predeparture PA includes a warning it’s going to be bumpy. If it’s smooth they think you’re awesome, if it’s bumpy they were warned!
Amazing how often the descent clearance comes during the new 5 prior PA. Another reason to keep it short.
