And is it runway 27 left or 27 right?

People need to know.

Where is XZY, and more importantly, what's the DOH of the junior lineholder?

Do not report the weather like a ATIS report.....cloudy, sunny, partly cloudy, temp, precipitation, wind.

Had a guy report the altimeter setting once, made me chuckle. Hours and military experience? That’s breaching heavily into tool status.

Have you heard of Capt Hollywood? If not, look him up, it’s magical.

“From the flight deck” is important as well. Sometimes that line is overlooked. People might get confused and think they are hearing God if you don’t clarify that point.

I keep my PAs to a minimum, always short and sweet, but I do say 'from the flight deck' just so the pax pay attention as they tend to tune out FA announcements. I agree it sounds lame though...but I can't think of anything better. Help!

Which airplanes have a flight deck? Any Delta airplane I’ve flown only has a cockpit as evidenced by the cockpit voice recorder.

“Ladies and Gentlemen on behalf of your cockpit crew, thanks for choosing Delta today. We will begin our initial descent into XYZ shortly and expect to have you on the ground in 30 minutes. Flights attendants please prepare the cabin for arrival”
