Renaissance in Atl for training
#13
I actually liked the Holiday Inn better. I was at the Renaissance for my last CQ and did NOT have an airport room. It was still very loud with a wedding/reception on the Lobby floor. Music playing until 11pm and drunk guests everywhere. I would request the highest floor on the non-airport side if I'm ever there again.
Also, both mornings the airport shuttle "forgot" to drop me off at the training center. Everyone else was going to the airport. To the drivers credit they both turned around but not until I stood up to ask if we were going to the training center. I walked back to the hotel after sims. No sidewalks if you can't go through parking lot.
Finally, I ordered a pizza at the hotel because there is nothing reasonably close for food (especially at dark).
To me the only benefit is nicer rooms.

I would agree with the above.

The gate was open at 0430 every morning for me while I was there. I also walked to the main gate with no issues. Its really not bad in that area at all and is well traveled by cars. Hardly a back alley where you would get mugged.

Not trying to be argumentative, just don't want the guy to plan for a 10 minute walk and get jammed up.

Yesterday I asked the girl at the gate and she said it is open 5a-7p. Seems like the time may vary depending on who is working that morning.
