That is correct. If PCS awarded it, it's yours.

Pg 41/42 SRH

WS
Same-day rotation

Next-day rotation if first attempted contact is less than 12 hours prior to report
Proffer

Next-day rotation if first attempted contact is 12 or more hours prior to report

Not a proffer. Pilot is obligated to ascertain whether his WS request has been granted, acknowledge his award and fly the rotation.

Page 41/42 has a great breakdown of WS proffer or not.

So is the 12 hours from report what separates a W from a PW award in daily trip coverage?

If a trip drops into open time prior to the 0700 PCS the day prior to the trip start, it would be awarded via the PCS and show a code of PW. If it's past that PCS cycle, it doesn't have to run through a PCS and it would show a code of W.

If you want to see lots of examples of W vs PW, go look at the daily coverage of pretty much any NB Captain in ATL.

To clarify. It's not a proffer at greater than 12 hours but if you don't answer your phone or acknowledge on iCrew, you don't have to accept as long as it was after the 0700 run for today and tomorrow.

Further clarify: If you answer the phone, and the trip is tomorrow greater than 12 hours from now, you must fly it. If you don't answer the phone you have 10 minutes to look at the trip and acknowlege it or not, if you don't acknowledge then they will call the next pilot on the ladder and you don't have to fly it.

Be advised there is a checkbox on the PCS template:

Award next-day flying on 0700E PCS run? YES/NO

If you check YES you can be awarded a trip for tomorrow during the 0700 PCS run today and you must fly it. And you will not even be called. Just like the beyond next day coverage trips.
