I have flown with many of them. Given many of them a TOE. They have all been great guys, and done exceptionally good jobs. While there may have been some that didn't set the world on fire in the schoolhouse - and I don't know ANY statistics on it - I don't think it fair to single them out. It was a very difficult program, and I don't know ANYBODY that breezed thru without working their ass off.... and that includes 330 guys. Contrary to popular belief, it is NOT a 330. If you are on the 330 and are thinking it will be an easy transition, think long and hard about that again. It is similar (I guess) in handling characteristics) but still very different. Some have gone to (and are going) to the 330 from the 350 and it requires a full school.

Someone referred to the 'initial cadre' making the program difficult. As someone that went thru very early in the program (before we had 3501 on property), I can tell you that the simulator instructors to a man (woman) have been nothing short of awesome. They were able to convey how the systems would be working even when they didn't in the sims. All of us that went thru in the early days worked our asses off, and I know of no one that busted.

So what? You really want another orphan fleet here with 10 -15 airplanes?

My airline deadheads me a lot, and every time I can, I will rebook onto a 787. That humidity makes a huge difference on the transonceanic deadheads. Never been on an A350, but I’ll say the 787 is no match for 777s or 767s from a pax point of view.

I think it might. These guys were accustomed to full qual courses at NATCO which were exceptional programs. You showed up ready to learn, and you received phenomenal instruction and training which left you completely prepared. System now is just a tad bit different...

This doctor says it is in regards to behavior. Interesting quick read.

Interesting in that the implied extrapolation wrt to pilot training is absurd.
