Anyone know if it actually went to 100% 12 year Captains, or did a few guys upgrade prior to 12 years?

I know it was 16+ years from getting hired in '98 to being able to hold Capt on anything... if I had wanted to be the NYC MD88 plug.

No worries. The whole SLI rules thing does get a bit confusing seeing as they live in a different world than us line swine...and that's okay b/c I sure wouldn't want to have to do their job.

I don’t know about that, I’m a 2000 hire and it was 13 years 9 months until any upgrade opportunity hit my seniority level. You obviously would have had that opportunity earlier.

Were you hired at Delta or Northwest? Lots of south guys hired in 2000 are senior to me.

Delta but merged with late 98 hires so you would either be senior to me or close to me if you were hired in 98. I still get your point on how long it used to be for upgrades.

There were a handful of Delta 2000 hires in the left seat of the MD88 in NYC in 2007 prior to the merger. Post merger, everything was too over staffed for others to get in for several years.

Well that needs to be corrected. Maybe its acceptable if they're buying a CA off the trip I suppose. But to just bid a fly month in the left seat at FO pay is rediculous.

Even during their full fly month(s)?

I can see that happening with a full time SLI who needs to grab a trip for currency etc. But for an SLI who takes a whole bid month (or two or three in a row as sometimes happens) are all of those "fly months" comprised from buy offs?
