Default KLM issues

A rotation was covered in the ATL 330 open time for AMS today. Notes state it is because we are covering for KLM next couple of weeks and another rotation has appeared. I was not aware of any KLM issues. Anyone know what is going on?

Hopefully not pilot strike related.

That was what I wondered. Do they have RR engines on their 787’s?

I’ve seen KLM bring in 787s each of the last few weeks. I haven’t heard about any job actions so I’m inclined to think the RR issue is at play here.

I thought that might be the case but I don't think so:

Looks like GE GeNX engines.

Hmm. I’m curious too. Our ANG unit is coming home thru there on the 11th with you guys. Do you guys expect any delays?

It’s a KLM issue not Delta.

Definitely not strike related, relations between management and unions are all good at the moment. The 787s have GE engines and are operating normally, although there have been a few long AOGs that have messed things up a bit. The biggest issue is probably a backlog in training. A recent contract improvement means that from June more crews will be required over all fleets so they are scrambling to get everyone trained up in time.
