IMO United will complete their deal this summer.
I hope you're right. We're in kind of a perfect storm with the economy the way it is, the money the company is making, and all three majors negotiating at the same time. Rooting for our negotiators and hoping they make it happen.

UAL opened last year and are already 2 months past their date (1 Feb I believe)...you really think they won’t ink a deal until after us?

AAL only opened in Jan, so they aren’t too far in front of us, so maybe/maybe not.

Just wondering what are educated guesses for sticking points in our process that would cause extended delays?

I’m thinking both parties view the fundamental framework as settled science. So it’s more likely an exercise in tweaking?

I hear ya. I hope they do. But everyone I know over there says there is no sense of urgency at all and they won't bend on scope an inch.

IMHO the biggest item will be retirement. Anything that we gain that could entice more guys to retire early will be a non-starter for the company.

After this, scope and work rules that may be perceived as increasing hiring needs.

This could easily be mitigated by tying such a gain to staying until age 65, or big hits for taking it early.

Delta's TA2 opener proposed a 3 year contract with 20/7/7 raises and a host of other large numbers. Same game will likely play out: DALPA comes in sky high, Management lowballs, and stalemate occurs for a while

Personnaly I'm like for minimal improvement to pay above COLA increases with the bulk of focus being on soft pay issues like Retirement, Health insurance, Vacation, Pay banding and DH.

Default Scope

Keep this in mind. We have caved on Scope with every contract since Bankruptcy.

I would like to see ALPA put out a survey on what color we want our lanyards to be. Orange is so yesterday. I could go for a hot pink, but that might not work because of October, we would just be trendy then.
