BS has said it will be a 320 base.
Has also said ER is too seasonal to support full time base in BOS. |

In the olden days it was a 727, 75-76 base with lots of Florida.
My 3 year old goes around using "olden days" and "Holliday" Thanks Peppa Pig. |

Posted in administration section on the flight ops pg:
”...The Chief Pilot position in BOS reports directly to the Regional Director – New York and will begin with a 4-6 month training tour in the New York Chief Pilot Office commencing at the beginning of the May bid month...” |
So, this thread has gone a bit stale. I know covid put a hold on things but has there been any more word on the Boston Base opening?
|
They are doing runs to see if opening BOS could possibly make the ATL 320 rotations worse. So far it has been impossible to make 320 rotations worse, so the base is on hold.
|
They mentioned in of the the CR updates that new bases were being looked at but nothing anytime soon. BOS and a new fleet type someplace out west was discussed.
I think they will get there eventually. Once the airline stabilizes from a training perspective the same fundamentals that made BOS worth it are still there. I would think that they will be talking about it more concretely in 1-2 years. |
Maybe they’re waiting on virtual basing…
