Default USA now CDC Level 3

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.for...th-notice/amp/

See above. Now that the CDC has moved the United States to a “Level 3”, how does this effect us domestic flyers? Prior publications from the company had CDC Level 3 travel restrictions broken up into two different categories for regular line holders and reserve holders. Based on current company policy how does this now effect us?

I'll just venture a guess...we are exempt, immune, essential & expendable! Get back to your triple deadheads to a disaster area!

Is now a good time to point out that the U.S. and South Korea has their respective first cases on the same day?

Relax, it's just the flu. You'll see, cases are going to go down to zero shortly...🙄

I see the Forbes article but they made a mistake. If you go to CDD website you will see USA is not a level 3. Japan, Brazil, Australia, Canada are level 3.

CDC Travel Health Notices

The CDC no longer lists specific countries as Level 3 for COVID 19. Instead it has increased the worldwide WuFlu travel advisory from Level 2 to Level 3. This effectively makes the entire world a Level 3. I’m not aware of any US specific travel advisories issued by the CDC for this or any other disease, as they are an American organization that issues travel warnings for US Citizens traveling abroad, much like the US Department of State.

We have a bulletin that lists Australia, Brazil, Canada, Japan and Israel as Level 3.

From ALPA:

Pilots should be aware that they have the option to accept or decline flying to a destination that is on the CDC Warning Level 3 COVID-19 list. If a pilot is scheduled to fly to one of the countries on this list, they have the following options:

A regular pilot can drop the trip without pay
A reserve pilot can refuse the trip and return to reserve status
Contact your Chief Pilot if you have questions, concerns or the desire to decline a trip.
Current CDC Warning Level 3 countries can be found at the CDC website, CDC Travel Health Notices.

So we can refuse a trip to one of these 5 countries.

Isn’t it funny how Kalitta crews got outfitted in full anti-virus garb to fly americans back from Wuhan. And we get ZIP from delta to fly people around in a country that has 2x as many COVID19 cases as China did then?

The ALPA bulletin is not the source document for CDC Warning Level 3 countries. The list is dynamic and the five countries you mentioned represented the current list as of the time of publication. My interpretation is that we can refuse a trip to a country with a CDC Warning Level 3. While on reserve earlier this month, I checked the CDC list multiple times daily for updates. The list expanded substantially between publication and the 26th of March. On the 27th of March, the CDC expanded the list to a worldwide Warning Level 3, effectively including all countries.
