USA now CDC Level 3

See above. Now that the CDC has moved the United States to a “Level 3”, how does this effect us domestic flyers? Prior publications from the company had CDC Level 3 travel restrictions broken up into two different categories for regular line holders and reserve holders. Based on current company policy how does this now effect us?

The CDC no longer lists specific countries as Level 3 for COVID 19. Instead it has increased the worldwide WuFlu travel advisory from Level 2 to Level 3. This effectively makes the entire world a Level 3. I’m not aware of any US specific travel advisories issued by the CDC for this or any other disease, as they are an American organization that issues travel warnings for US Citizens traveling abroad, much like the US Department of State.

From ALPA:
Pilots should be aware that they have the option to accept or decline flying to a destination that is on the CDC Warning Level 3 COVID-19 list. If a pilot is scheduled to fly to one of the countries on this list, they have the following options:
A regular pilot can drop the trip without pay
A reserve pilot can refuse the trip and return to reserve status
Contact your Chief Pilot if you have questions, concerns or the desire to decline a trip.
Current CDC Warning Level 3 countries can be found at the CDC website, CDC Travel Health Notices.
So we can refuse a trip to one of these 5 countries.

We have a bulletin that lists Australia, Brazil, Canada, Japan and Israel as Level 3.
