I would support permanent leaves of absence for senior pilots (and the number guarantees to be offered AND awarded if bid to determined by how many are required for $X amount of savings) as a prerequisite to DISCUSSING SILs or other cost saving measures. Make the company buy some goodwill with a legitimate act of long-term savings.

Notice as well what the RLL number is for May versus a normal month. NYC73N it’s usually 140+, this month it’s 51 for CA and 42 for FO.

how do RLL bids affect ALV and TLV? Seems they should be offering more not less, but guess that depends on the answer to my question.

And when I add up the total number of man days for NYC73, it adds up to 349, which is 25 and a half pilots flying 5:15/day until they hit 72:00. SILs make absolutely no sense because you’d only be able to award 100-140+ for each seat and still have reserves stacked like cordwood, and would have saved 24% of payroll on this with SILs (probably more as it goes senior and the lower seniority/longevity pilots end up with lines).
