Only have X days until I expire then vacay after that. Since there is no requirement to be contactable on X days or vacation, can they assign the RCY on my one remaining identified day (the 20th...surrounded by X days)? At what point do I have to answer the phone, my next on-call days in June?
It's not a reserve call out, it's a training event. You basically have to go when they call you if it's a reserve day, they don't call to discuss it with you, it's notification you have a recency on such and such day, and it's put on your schedule. I have been called the day the recency before. Like Sailing said, play the game of not answering if you want, but in this environment I don't know if I'd risk not going current. Then have company claiming they gave you a chance to get qualified again and not getting paid because it was your issue, not theirs. It might be weeks of no pay. I don't know if I'd want to play that game personally.

Are the planners under any obligation to actually look at the 14 days of availability you submitted in icrew or even look at your schedule before posting RCY? I understand they are busy but it seems like they are making their job harder by being difficult to contact and there not being any Flight Ops wide guidance on how/when to email or call the sim planners.

I'm not saying it doesn't happen, but as someone who goes for bounces 3ish times a year, I've never not been given recency on the 14 days I provided. Then again, I've only gone once since the COVID started.

I believe they have to do it on one of the 14 days you give them. Like crewdawg says, I've never been given recency on days I didn't specify. (and I go regularly)

The number for the sim planners are in the bid package I believe, but they are pretty busy and don't often answer the phone. I've had better luck with email, if I remember when I called the flight training planner it had their email in their message (I could be wrong) but I bet Crew Assist could help with the email address.

No. <500 hrs in type so not eligible. But if you read my earlier posts on this - I talked to the planner and there are ~200 ER pilots that need RCY or RECY right now.
