I’m like everyone else and feel the need to riot, but I’m more of a private person. So, I smashed a couple of yard gnomes on the back patio and set my grill on fire.

Fight the power.

Keep in mind, ALPA reps won’t be immune to this pain. Heck, if we do furlough some could very well be cut. So, emotion is running high everywhere in our ranks so take that alleged consensus with a grain of salt. Maybe even give them a break.
I heard an ALPA rep in the lounge say this exact thing today while talking to someone on the phone. I don't believe the company is doing this but I guess there are some ALPA reps who do.

So everyone is now immediately in a new category, but no one trains, and they just cancel it at some future point? That's a lot of work for zero result. I doubt anything like that will happen.

I DO see the possibility of follow on AEs cropping up sooner than we have seen in recent years, with the possibility of lots of reinstatements, likely before the reinstated pilots ever even converted or trained.

Well, if management can't get the reduced ALVs they wanted, converting thousands of pilots to lower paid categories is one way to force savings. Hmmm.

If that’s the way they want to play it, fine. Within the PWA so its a fair ball. But it’s definitely like a Pesky’s Pole home run, cheap.

Yeah. Once you are converted there is nothing to cancel. I think the likely outcome will be most people convert, about half of everyone actually trains before a new bid comes out. And then it’s chaos in the other direction.

I think this is exactly what they are doing.
Thats the first round of pay cuts.

Then they will come to ALPA and beg for a second round of pay cuts.

+1. Pay attention folks. All this after rebuffing ALPA’s efforts to work together, renig on SIL’s, and refusing to even talk on Early Retirements until the plan was in place... Hammer meet Anvil.

This would be funny if it wasn't something as serious as displacements and furloughs. Are you suggesting the company should not attempt to negotiate mitigation strategies with us before they use the the tools they're allowed in the PWA?

This is a suck sandwich. Would be nice to see something worked out between ALPA and DAL to make it less sucky. Had this situation been the company's fault, I'd have a different view on it.

I'm not surprised they're sharpshooting the PWA in a similar manner (but different scale) than pilots do very month. This forum is full of tips for maximizing pay and time off within the limits of the PWA.
