Default B bidding to fly with LCA

I expect this has been discussed ad nauseum, but I did a thread search to no avail, because I hate to be "that guy." So at least a minor measure of due diligence as attempted and I came up empty.

I recently moved from left to right seat and have some decent seniority. For really my first time at Delta, I'd like to try bidding to fly with LCAs. How can I do that? Is there a fleet/domicile list of LCAs somewhere? I know this may be a closely guarded trade secret for some, but I'd appreciate any gouge that can be put forth.

There’s a PBS property that allows you to bid to fly with all LCAs. Just do “award if any leg with LCA. “

you don’t have to bid each (or any) individual LCA specifically.

Check with the chief pilot office at the base in question. They will either have a list or can connect you with the lead line check pilot in your category who will know.

You could also find the Flight Standards directory on DeltaNet.

No kidding? Wow, maybe that was suppressed from view when I was a captain. With your guidance, I found it. Excellent!

Thanks a lot.

Recommend selecting “every leg” with LCA instead of just any. Especially if you’re a wide body FO.

Speaking from experience, you might want to qualify the bid somewhat though. Remember, not all LCAs are senior and get great trips. OEs are usually done on 3,4 or 5 day domestic trips. So you might want to put an Award if LCA and if trip length 3 days or greater.

Well there’s no getting that toothpaste back in the tube. The least you guys could have done was charge him for the info and done it via PM. Years of learning and experiment for insider information lost in the stroke of a keyboard. Dam you COVID!

Next thing you know we’ll be giving away the bank secrets.

I’ll take it a step further. In addition to trip length, look at the sim schedule. Look at when people are finishing 44X and then target a day or two afterwards as your target windows for trips. If you don’t get trips in those windows then they weren’t worth having anyway (they probably weren’t OE). It only takes about an hour or so of your time to do it; it’s well worth it.

As for giving up trade secrets, I figure what the heck, I’m getting furloughed anyway, might as well help a bro out. I won’t be bidding to fly with LCAs again until at least 2022-23

Hah! I'll blame it on 90°F temps and a nearly empty HeadyTopper. Makes me feel "generous." There is nothing worse than bidding to fly with LCAs and getting a whole month paired with LCAs (high five....great success) on 1 and 2 day trips. That is enough to make you....ummmm...sick that month. 😁

Ive bid to fly with LCAs in the past and got a couple trips on my line that lasted for about a week and then they swapped the LCAs out!?! WTF!

Buyer beware, YMMV.
