Delta declines CARES act Money

I’m gonna go out on a limb and assume you aren’t on any Delta employee/non-rev FB pages nor on SkyHub. There’s almost a deity level of worship among a lot of our employees for Ed. #3 wouldn’t happen short of being forced out by the board or some other private ethical scandal.
...and you'd be correct sir. I'm NOT saying there is ANY chance of Ed being forced out. All I'm saying is that the pilot group shouldn't consider concessions until the execs give the billion dollars back to the company and Ed resigns.

Looks like our CEO missed another meeting with the White House:
"Executives that attended the meeting included American Airlines CEO Doug Parker, United Airlines CEO Scott Kirby and Southwest Airlines CEO Gary Kelly."

Not that there’s anything wrong with that, as long as he didn’t get in a car and drive after the flight.

I've been through this at other places where people think an exec resigning will open the door to a "labor friendly, treat the pilots like the skygods they are", type of manager. It won't. The next guy in, you'll hate just as much. Look at the business. Before corona, we were firing on all cylinders. I don't begrudge Ed. It's business for him and it's business for us. Don't let your emotions cloud that. As much as things suck now, I'd much rather have Ed driving the bus right now.

I think you're right. Delta thinks they can survive (and even thrive) without government money (although we'll need to furlough and right size) and government money will just artificially prop up the competition which Delta is hoping to be able to crush in the future. So I think there not being a CAREs 2 is actually better for Delta..just not for the pilots/employees in the short term.
