Ya know, I thought that for a long time.

Sit down and have a drink with them, and it turns out they’re just like Americans, just with a slightly different focus. Maybe that’s what annoys us.

In the end, thought, they’re about max pay for min work... just like we are.

They (French) know for the overwhelming majority of the proletariat hard work only makes the boss rich. Therefore, enjoy life and wine. The Americans are the overachievers who went to the new land only a short time ago for religious expression. Americans (non French/Italian/Catalans) are young, they too will learn.

Along similar lines - if a person is not physically required for the work to be performed how secure is that job with increases in AI? I tend to think that a lot of jobs that can be done remotely are on the chopping block for elimination/consolidation. This has always been the case but it appears to be speeding up.

Computers and Robots are getting more and more capable and the type of jobs they will be able to perform will dramatically increase in the incoming decades.

I live in suburban DFW (Frisco). Most restaurants are either at a 50% limit or have plexiglass, or both. Otherwise feels pretty close to normal. Wish I had bought stock in the plexiglass manufacturer.

Businesses can still mandate mask wear if they so decide, just like they can with shirts and shoes for service. Nothing changes there. Local governments can not shut them down without justification (a laborious process now) and approval. The congressman I consult for as well as several more have been pushing this for about 2 months now. The congressmen/women hear from their constituents and the people want their state opened up. So DeSantis did with this EO.

At least it is a move in the right direction. The question is: are the people ready yet? "If we build it, will they come" is kind of where we are at right now IMHO.

This is not meant to be political, just information.
He can do whatever he wants. It doesn’t mean people will come flooding back. Disney can’t even fill the limited capacity they are operating the parks at. I was just there for 6 days, it’s still a ghost town with the majority of the resorts closed.

Id like to know when that was. I was there on sat, sept 26 and the place was packed. Only reason i agreed to go was that my wife told me there would be no crowd. I was very unpleasantly surprised to see all the people. Man i really hate that place.

Maybe weekends are still really crowded compared to a Tuesday or Wednesday?

Read that the W.H.O. does not recommend lockdowns to control the spread of SARS-CoV-2 virus:

Dr David Nabarro, the WHO's Special Envoy on Covid-19, tells Andrew Neil: 'We really do appeal to all world leaders: stop using lockdown as your primary control method'

Good news for the airline industry!
