regardless, Delta's (management) conduct was vindictive and the judge made the right decision.
In common convention, a medical doctor can use the "doctor" title in every day usage.

In common convention, a PhD will only use "doctor" in the context of professional academic duties. Kind of like airline Captains.

If the lady in question had been assigned by powers-that-be do to an analysis she could appropriately use the title in the that context. But a line puke with unsolicited commentary should use the title "Captain".

PhD's who throw the doctor title around willy-nilly tend to be suspect in academia. Just like an airline pilot who makes a restaurant reservation under "Captain Jones".

Her behavior seems a bit odd to me. The way to go about something like that would be to run it through the union... going VFR-direct and throwing around a Riddle PhD is worthy of at least some eye-rolling. She seems to have a higher regard for her own credentials than most objective observers would credit.

If you could be bothered to read the details you will see that she did go to the union. And no, befor you ask, I won't do your homework for you. Read it yourself.
Exactly the same happened in my case. The union ran away meaning I had to represent myself at trial. Zero legal experience...won on every point. Maybe you could also accuse me of attention seeking. You will be 100% correct. Unfortunatly naming names and as some would have claimed 'publically humiliating those involved.' is the only way to hold airlines, and those who's mentality would suggest they have swallowed the 'blue pill' to account.
For those who prefer to be informed rather than being spoon fed by the establishment and take the red pill, Karlenes case, in detail, with names named, will appear in Pulling Wings From Butterflies part 2 www.pullingwingsfrombutterflies.com. The choice is yours.

Did BALPA jump into the pool after your meeting with the tribunal?

The UK's Airline Pilots Union BALPA have confirmed that Thomas Cook Airlines have agreed undisclosed damages and apology to Captain Mike Simkins who refused to fly at a level of fatigue equivalent to that of a drunk driver. A Tribunal Judgment earlier in the year had unanimously found in the pilots favour.

I think we can all agree at the very least it’s Karlene's fault we are cancelling all of these flights and looking terrible.

If she hadn’t gone on her crusade, JG and Dickson wouldn’t have thought she was nuts and they wouldn’t have tried to can her and they’d still be here running flight Ops like a fine tuned machine and not the mess in staffing and resources that Laughter has overseen who is obviously completely over his head in this role.

That’s all I care about. AA and UAL are destroying us in terms of performance and this is all I can pin it to unless whoever was responsible for our amazing performance the last few years took a VEOP.

Many thanks for opening that can of BALPA worms

You would agree that it reads as if BALPA provided legal support for the tribunal. They pulled legal funding before the trial claiming the airline offer of £2000 was a 'great result.

I represented myself against a multibillion-dollar airline with a HR department, thee solicitors and one of the UK's leading barristers. It was me and a carboard box with the documents. I won on every count.

The hardest question to answer from their barrister was 'if your case is so strong why are you representing yourself'...my answer 'politics'

So again thank you for drawing attention to a union doing it's best to 'spin' what happend. Book contains no spin, just facts, but I tell you , those blue pills are really quite poweful but I suspect it makes it hard to sleep at night.

100%. I was a Republican my entire life up until 2010. I cannot believe how bad the party has lost its way!

Titling at windmills often indicates a personality which holds itself in exceptionally high regard. That doesn't necessarily translate to a clinical disorder worthy of grounding, and DAL appears to have been overly enthusiastic in their pursuit of fitness for duty.

But if the union and the company (and all the other line pilots?) think there's not a problem, maybe you need to look in the mirror for the problem.

DAL being wrong in this case does not make you right in all things.
