Prepare Yourselves... 2021 AEs

Alright, all bids are in. How long until we see the results? I’m guessing COB on Wednesday...gives them 15 days to cleanup the inverse assignments and then we get the real AE in the beginning of April.

I agree with what you’re saying regarding the AE, but the news about bookings was kind of a $h!1 sandwich. They’re expecting total revenues for Q1 to be on the bottom of guidance and expenses will be higher than guidance.
The future booking news is very good news for pilots though.

Heck man, I'm pretty sure they've already converted us out of Affected Pilot status. I bypassed the last AE, and my paycheck this morning was based on UNA status (reserve guarantee rather than 72 hours). I think they hated this whole Affect Pilot thing so much they did it retroactively.

It sounds like they are going to prioritize those that can be returned to the line with short requal training events. If they mass convert on April 1st or a similar date they can schedule however they want with no concern of pay protection since it would already be baked in. I also think they will post the next AE shortly after and that could affect the timing for training too.

There seems to be a disconnect with how the company thinks conversions will go versus the actual language in 20-04.
Thinking out loud here:
An affected pilot doesn't become an active pilot until training (or conversion if no training is required). An affected pilot must be given 30 days notice before training. An affected pilot has no obligation to the company. And an affected pilot will not incur a seat lock on an AE.
Basically, my interpretation is they can convert everyone tomorrow if they want but that is not the trigger to move from affected to active status. So say April rolls around and they post another AE, and despite being awarded and converted on the March AE, I will still be an affected pilot since I haven't been to training. Therefore I will again not have a seat lock on the April AE award.
All this business about locking us all into this second AE award is suspect.
