- Once positive space ends, what is the original policy? Primary with a backup?

- Again, what is the policy regarding the airlines we plan to use as our primary and backups and time between them? If you miss your primary, are you required to let the company know you are using your backup?

- Is there a good place to see flight schedules of all airlines?

- Is there a preferred way to book jumpseats with other airlines?

If there is anything else you can share I would appreciate it! Thanks.
For the love of everything holy, if you have the luxury, yes absolute, unadulterated luxury, of not having to commute, don’t do it by choice. I got hired at the only airline of the big 4 without a base in my home town (ORD/(MDW)). I planned on moving to ATL when I got off probation, but 9/11 hit and by the time I came back from furlough, I had met my wife (a local girl to my home town) and the rest, as they say, is history. I’d give my middle gonad, to not have to commute, As we’ve been told many times, commuting is a choice. One of the best lessons I learned from a craps dealer comes to mind....don’t bet too big early, wait for the game to come to you, and when it does jump on. Wait for the seat to come to you, and jump on.

OK, rant over. Just think about life as a local vs a potential commuter really hard. Life lesson over. Good luck. E

The best job at Delta IMHO is WB reserve in base. Fly one trip a month maybe, and it’s probably a GS if tactically planned these days

Nearly anyone? You do know we have guys in international categories right? Demand ain’t exactly booming there due to lockdowns, quarantines, etc. I’ve had exactly one GS I could have gotten in the last 3 years. Seeing my tired a€€ fumble around ARCOS was probably quite comical.

Thanks for all the commuting advice. When we positive space commute, how do we book it? Company business or TravelNet or is there a different method? How far out can we book our commuter flights?

Point two. A few pilots playing the GS game don’t equate to everyone just raking it in. A kin to your stupid “million dollar” 350 A’s. Yeah, 4 or 5 pilots out of 14000, great point.
and I love those guys for doing it. I try to stay at home as much as possible because I love spending time with my kids. Never going to get that time back. Some people who are empty nesters or don’t have a family fly their butts off now to make extra coin while they can. But, I definitely agree with you, not remotely the same as profit sharing. I actually keep hearing this same thought on the line, make your own profit sharing. I just can’t justify being gone 20+ days a month

Use company business. Book them as soon as you know your schedule, as PS available seats are reduced as the flight sells out.

Just to add for anyone reading casually, Negotiators Notepads are source documents, just like the Scheduling Reference Handbook. Both are vetted through the company.

As many would say Delta doesn't have a lot of widebodies (especially after retiring the 777) so yes, nearly everyone

A: A commung pilot under this LOA is not required to have a back-up flight. The posive space booking is deemed to sasfy any commuter policy requirements.
Thats official enough. The company would have spoken up if they felt it was incorrect and I beIieve the company reviews them. Thanks!

20 days + is most definitely unstainable long term but allows a pilot to reach financial goals with cat like quickness. The current staffing situation is also unsustainable long term and won't last forever so for me if it's raining green I'm going to grab a big bucket. YMMV
