That’s true but those positions likely wouldn’t be trained until post summer.

Man...if I would have realized just how tough it is to work/train/fly for an international carrier, I would have gone into teaching.......9-4, not only every weekend off but holidays and summer’s to boot.
Eff that short term pain for long term gain. I’ll never say that to my kids.

For a little perspective, teachers don't just work 9-4. I have plenty of friends and family who teach. Its classroom from 7-4 and then lesson planning and grading most nights until after dinner. That's if they aren't involved in extra-cirriculars. Yes, you do get summers and some holidays off (again, see above) but many use their off time to make up for their generally inadequate salaries. I make more than double what my best friend and his wife make (both teachers) and I get at least half the year off.

They work 24/7.
24 hours a week, 7 months a year.
