I think the average Delta pilot is as informed as me or more and assumed it was that group (and not the general populace) to whom you were speaking. Say what you will about the hiring process - I am pretty impressed by the average hire here.

What kind of response were you expecting? Someone lays out what they would like to see in a new contract and you come in with condescending BS and you thought you would get what? Did you think you would totally change everyone’s minds and make everyone want to give management some pay cuts and QOL gives like you?

In this context, I would say immediately means they will see some benefit in that particular contract cycle. Surely we can vote for a contract that contains small things that may benefit us only in the more distant future or never at all. But I wouldn’t expect such items to make up a significant percentage of a contract’s cost. The only retirement restoration proposals I have heard about are enormously expensive and benefit only a small group of people in the first contract cycle. I think that train left the station with the VEOP.
