This is perfect. Not to mention, JamesBond got an extra 5 years of maximum earning potential than he was "promised" when he got hired. The whining and entitlement from these guys just really blows my mind.

The numbers shrink every year. I believe the pilot group will be more than half 2014 hires and later within a year or two.

Funny how when people mention being stuck at the regionals for xx years due to age 65 it falls on deaf ears...."But it was worse for me!!!"

So here is my quick proposal. 2% COLA yearly as a plus up on PBGC/frozen NW DC plans. Assume avg monthly payout is 4K a month....that's roughly 50k a year. So the increased cost would be about 1/4 to 1/2 % for the 11k pilots

So ....
pretty modest "ask"....certainly not a bank buster, it is achievable and way way less than what was being touted before. The previous ask was so outlandish IMO....management laughed and the issue became so divisive that the pilot group went even try to understand the situation. To them it is a money grab, when quite possibly there may be some merit to the issue.

Normally I would say let the union work it out, unfortunately last time their ask "poisoned the well" due to it's extremis,,,,,,,and so, here we are

How would eligibility be determined? Is this negotiated (by the union, I’m not sure how you plan to avoid the union working it out) for active pilots only or are prior retirees eligible as well? It seems a reasonable ask at first blush but there would be a lot of details to finalize. I’m curious where the lines would be drawn.

I know right! I actually had to talk an FO down from the cliff because he wasn’t gonna break 200k in year three and he downgraded from Capt. Prayers..

Yes. He rarely makes coherent arguments. And when he gets mad, he resorts to culture wars.

Coherent? All you have to do is read. How hard is that?
