When a pilot gets mandatorily displaced they can go anywhere (base and/or fleet) their seniority can hold, and there is no seat lock wherever they go.

A strategy that might work out well for some NHs is to bid DTW717B. If they do in fact close it before you leave it, you get to displace into anything you can hold without a seat lock. If you just like hanging out on Virginia Ave, displace to NYC7ERB and you can get displaced off that too!

YMMV...BWYWWWYB

Thanks again for all the info and help!

I got the “cleared to climb” email today, right after I posted my questions about new hire bidding. Looking forward to starting a new chapter and joining the team!

Welcome aboard! You'll have a good time here. Best of luck with your initial bid.

Thanks. I’m clearly an idiot without the mental capacity to read the PWA. Scary they let me fly planes here!

Lol don’t be so hard on yourself. It’s easier to ask a group where at least one will probably already know it than to read a million pages of legalese just to answer a few questions about something that you’ll do once or twice.

Web bashing is just the penance for a quick answer from the SMEs.

did they mention how far out to expect classes? I’m assuming the spring ones the next few months are full already, but we should ramp up hiring again sometime after the summer (winter at latest I’d assume).

welcome!!

Heh heh... My last four SSN begins with 99 and I hope to bid DTW 320B sometime this spring. I suppose this is good news for me (I should get what I want) and good news for everyone except a2cBus (I'll stay out of everyone else's way except theirs) - sorry.
