I spent a fair amount of time in pilot hiring. So I speak from the person that is/was sitting across the table in the person to person interview. I would check your attitude back in your broom closet before you leave for the interview (assuming you get another one). We interview lots of people. We are very good at sniffing the BS out. After a couple of hundred or so interviews got pretty good at it.

If you exhibit any of the personality tendencies you've demonstrated here in your multiple posts over the months, you're not going to do well.

Get yourself right, look in the mirror and do some serious self reflection before you show up for interview 2.0. Just some free advice, take it or leave it.

Yeah, for sure. Thanks & it is appreciated. I am more just wondering what to believe. I saw the document about 672 new hires, but the AE discussion and rumors here/elsewhere seem to point to closer to double or even slightly more than double. Not sure what to believe. Dont want to get my hopes up.

Back a few months ago when this was getting kicked around here and some were saying we are only hiring for attrition I posted we'd hire somewhere north of 1000 pilots for 2026. Then revised it down to around 800ish then went back to my north of 1000 figure. I still hold to that. Looks like better fidelity now so maybe somewhere around 1100-1400 for the year. I don't think it will be less than ~1000 though. The high end could be closer to 1500. Doubt we'll see that but who knows. The real tell will be what happens with SLIs this summer.

Regurgitating the MEC news from this week

27 JAN 26:

ATL 73NB
LAX 73NB
NYC 73NB
DTW 320B
SLC 320B
NYC 220B
SLC 220B
DTW 717B

I spoke with a new hire and they informed me that the 03 FEB class was exclusively A320 and 73N. Not sure which bases.

Fangs,

Do you have a list of the leftover spots for the Feb AE?

Even better! A better product (since it's automated), and saves a ton of work. Curly gives 48 hours of free access to new signups, and once you show up on the SL. But there might be a gap, so here goes:

I'm not planning on doing this every month, but here you go. Based on untilled vacancies, here is what NH's can expect to have available for the End of Feb and Early March Indoc Classes. The number in parentheses is the total number including backfills. The Bold is where I would expect the vast majority of slots to go, just my opinion. DTW 320 is the runaway winner, but there will probably be offerings n most of the following at some point...

ATL
7ER N/A (1)
73N 61 (82)
320 49 (85)

717 13 (36)

DTW
73N 11 (17)
320 67 (101)
717 22 (33)

NYC
7ER 23 (63)
73N 15 (33)
320 8 (20)
220 17 (25)

LAX
7ER 8 (21)
73N 14 (26)
320 N/A (5)

MSP
73N 6 (17)
320 N/A (8)
220 24 (26)

SEA
73N 4 (8)
320 N/A (5)

SLC
73N 9 (18)
320 5 (13)

New hires should be reminded to bring their Kevlar when they're down at training. Another shooting in the Hilton parking lot today.
