nothing is official obviously, but rumblings from a friend in the training department said they want to hire 200+ for 20 consecutive months. Furthermore, the number of qualified applicants has dwindled across ALL airlines, not just us. Not sure what's going to happen.
It was put out at a training meeting that they want 16,000 pilots on the seniority list for Summer 2023. Summer 2022 is just the tip of the money-making iceberg. The company anticipates blowing 2019 out of the water in 2023. They see smaller dips in bookings with every new variant and they realize that 90% of people are over the ‘Rona by now. Soon it will be 99.9% of people won’t forgo travel for it. Really once governments stop overreacting/overreaching and people can plan intl travel, then they will en mass. Come 2023, COVID will be a late-night punchline. |
A few questions…..
1. Do you start getting paid today on Day 1 of Indoc? If so, what is the training pay? 2. If you have to wait for training to start (the 3-6 weeks mentioned here), I assume you continue to get paid during that wait? 3. Finally, is Delta flexible if training start conflicts with the birth of a new child? Thanks. |

They ask if your start date on your app is still accurate during the interview. In the class date email, you get a questionnaire that asks if you forsee any conflicts for 90 days from your training start, like marriage or birth of a child, before accepting the class date. So they ask but not sure of the outcome if you give an answer other than no conflicts. |

Isn’t there also a ceremony in which family is invited? |

Yes, but you are only allowed one guest. Generally people bring a spouse or significant other, but sometimes people bring a parent or even an older child.
Ok thanks. I imagine you can bring your child? Also, is the ceremony on the last day of Indoc and does Delta fly the guest to ATL? |
