A few years ago we were watching Midway (original, not the remake). My wife, who was with Coca Cola for for many years working in marketing and branding commented that the officers working on the bridge of a warship were wearing a uniform that bore no resemblance to the one I wear at work. “Isn’t your uniform based on a navy uniform?” she inquired. I told her it was, but the dress uniform not the one in the movie.
She then said that if they don’t wear the dress uniform to pilot the boat, why do you wear one based on it to pilot the airplane?

Glad I married her.

I filled out the survey. Get rid of that horseblanket of a jacket. Dump that insipid hat. Only grocery store baggers and pilots wear a short sleeve shirt with a tie.

So, are you for mandatory long sleeve shirts all the time with tie....no ties ever....or a different coat, mandatory all year to go with short sleeve and tie....or something else altogether?

Can we elect to spend the “multi-millions” on something that actually affects quality of life? I don’t care what costume I wear at work. I sure would like it though if the airline was properly staffed, or iCrew went the way of the dinosaur, or maybe vacation paid what a day is worth. Stuff like that.

Who is getting elected? You don't get to vote for your boss.

This exactly. Another distraction while our contract is getting further and further down the line. But Jesus Chri$t, let someone think they can vote to get rid of the hat, and they will forget the contract for at least 6 months.

Some of y’all got some serious hat obsession.

I read it wrong and now can't edit it. Disregard

If we are forced to wear long sleeve shirts the vaccine pushback will look quaint.

I read it here...it's the FOM and under the full control of the company. Therefore you are not being forced...you can quit if you feel that strongly. Trip...please correct me if I'm wrong.

Much like the other requirements of the FOM and the company’s rules, comply or find other employment. I think you are correct, the sleeves would fall into the uniform requirement category.

So…if the company said wear something (say a pin) that was against your deeply held religious beliefs, that’s OK too? I get what you guys are saying, but companies have limits on what they can reasonably require.
