Such a whacky time we're seeing with what seniority holds what. In DTW, I barely scratch 80% as a WB B, which is the same as what I'd be in the 73NA and I'll be sub 40% as a 717A. If there really is a WB bid this winter, it will change a bit, but I'd be surprised to get close to 50% in DTW. Getting to 50% WB B (especially outside of NYC) is no small feat.

WB B is a dang good QOL....as long as you can figure out the sleep. But keep in mind, you're still losing about 8 hours of sleep on a typical 3-day international trip. I loved it and if rona hadn't happened, I likely would have been one of the guys that stayed WB B until I could hold some seniority in the left seat of a WB. I passed up reinstatement to the WB mainly because I don't care to deal with the restrictions overseas, and I don't care for the crappy domestic stuff the WBs are flying right now. Once this world stops losing their minds and things settle back to normal, if I can hold < 50% WB B in base, I'll consider going back. That said, and I know this goes against the grain of many on here, but as a super senior NB B, my QOL has never been better than it is right now. It all just depends on your situation in your little slice of Delta. I'm happily sticking to NB life and will slide over to the left seat soon. I may go back to WB B down the road, but for now, I'm digging the flying I'm doing.

If I was a commuter...I'd go WB B and not look back.

What % are you NB currently? You live in base?

First page of the wides seniority and I live within short call range. I now understand the guys that say say to get senior and stay senior.

So you are less concerned about sign in sign out compared to a commuter. Obviously the later sign in and the earlier the sign out the better but it’s less of a concern I’m guessing. After a short time in the WB its a whole new world. So far so good on sleep cycle. Just have to be smart about it. Haven’t gotten home tired yet. Being a commuter the NB schedules are costing me multiple days at home. Along with working so much harder when at work.
Quote: A GSs are primed to go out for foreseeable future, especially as the next AE with WB positions raid the NB A categories. Hence the company is starting to struggle to recruiting LCPs, especially on the 330
I think there is a large group of pilots that are willing to step up and serve in those positions. It’s just a much smaller group that are willing to take a significant pay cut to do it. Make it to where they aren’t taking a loss and it will iron itself out.

Ya man, living in base is an entirely different dynamic. That's what I was eluding to with my "each persons situation in their slice of delta" comment. Anyway, I'm more of a reserve guy, but when I do bid a line, I actually prefer super early sign-ins and the shorter the trip, the better.

Ya man, WB flying is like working for an entirely different airline and the WB is hard to beat, especially as a commuter. If I were a commuter, I couldn't see myself flying a NB if I had the WB option...it just lends itself to easy commuting. You many not feel tired, but you're definitely fatiguing yourself, I mean, sleep is a constant topic of conversation...then again so are redeyes and flip-flopping your schedules on some of our domestic trips. The 0200 wakeups can be painful sometimes. Check out the book Why We Sleep, it's an interesting read.

Yup!

Some guys disappear into the right seat WB black hole and are never seen again.
As someone that is currently in the UNA-awaiting-training blackhole, this is definitely the life.

Here ya go.
Quote: Did you try ELSE START NEXT?
I did, several in fact. I got next. BTW, I finally manipulated Thanksgiving off, Gobble Gobble.
For those predicting a 365 day MOAB, what displacements do you predict? That’s one of the requirements for a year long conversion window, right?
