Are you talking about the Helix one? Not sure if I'd like that single-pole handle, though the ergonomics might be better.

No it's a conventional handle. I can just feel a little slop in it. I actually put a little twist in it as I pull it and it's solid.

What do you guys keep inside your flight bag?

Apart from company iPad, headset and a flashlight, what else do people carry in there at DL?

Int’l you probably have your kit for the bunk, but apart from that is there a need for a proper flight bag at all or you just bring one cause you’re used to it?

Which one would you recommend, then? Which Costco one did you get?

I bought a costco one they no longer make. My next bag will be Briggs and Riley or Tumi but I've been at a major for over 14 years. I would get any bag with 2 wheels, no spinners. It doesn't really matter. They're all similar. Luggage works has the metal frame and handle to support pulling a flight case on the back of it. The screws come loose on it, the frame bends from throwing it around because it's so heavy. Buy a lighter bag and be gentle on it. I bought the Coscto for $99 as a stop gap. Wish I would have bought a couple of them. It's still holding strong.

Buy the Andare one a few posts above. $80. Looks fine.

I primarily use my flight bag for ipad, charger/cord, headset, laptop, water bottle, flashlight, snacks, dollar bills for tipping, pen and paper, and a thin rain coat.

Sometimes I put clothes in there that wouldn't fit in my large bag. And often times I put in an extra shirt to throw on so that I can take off my uniform shirt (deadheading, etc).

Chargers, licenses, ear phones, airpods, coffee mug or water bottle, sunglasses, sun shades, umbrella, additional wallet with emergency CC and some international currency, passport, extra pen, book/kindle or other reading material, emergency granola bars.

Headset, flashlight, iPad.

I have a backpack. IPad in the back tablet sleeve. Main compartment holds headset, seat cushion (a 717 necessity), umbrella, and in the winter I’ll throw in a pair of gloves and earmuffs. Pouches in the main compartment hold chargers, snacks, spare plasticware, and some basic medicines (aspirin, afrin, claratin, etc). First front pocket has the backup battery, spare scratch paper, and crossword puzzles. Small front pocket has flashlight, passport, chapstick, kiddie wings and cards, and some other small misc crap. One side pocket is insulated for a water bottle and the other side holds my sunglasses.

Can you guys link some of the flight bags you use? I’m new to the airlines and have been using a backpack for the last ~10 years in corporate.

Super helpful thread, thank you!

A lot of guys use backpacks. Flight kit bags aren't necessary.
