No, we are not going to arbitration. Arbitration would be an idiotic thing to agree to, and we are not already there. We are in mediation, which is a very different thing.

We have to improve a lot of areas. Let’s go do it.
You mean mediation. We don't do arbitration - huge difference.

I don't. I said we are too far apart. Where are we going with this new direction of questions? Glad we cleared up the other part though.

For those trying to figure out why we are here now. Mine was a reply to another poster saying swinging for the fences would land us in mediation.

Going back to what i said as a review, but condensing for length. "We are too far apart, so we would head to arbitration... Oh thats right we already did."

Egg on my face, twice in the last few days. There is a huge difference, agreed. Still hoping for the best.

Whoops, my bad.

Just for reference several pilot groups have been involved in arbitration post 911. In every case it turned out very bad for the pilot groups involved. More than likely we will be proffered arbitration at some point. It’s a place we do not want to go. Mediation is not great either with its emphasis on driving everything into the zone of reasonableness based on your standing with peer groups. In Mediation we at least have the option to say no. Arbitration is a disaster.

Arbitration is always a proffer. Who has accepted it?

I think they're talking about agreeing to binding arbitration.
