I’ve hear things are so messed up and they are so far behind no AE until Fall.

over 200 in Feb. I didn’t look any further back.

That’s literally impossible unless they stop hiring. They will run out of unfilled B positions to place new hires in well before the fall. They may not have a big of an AE as they wanted, but there will at least be something before the fall.

I have no sympathy when they caused the staffing issues and never took an opportunity to change the course when it became apparent we would need more pilots sooner than their pessimistic estimations. We’re the ones paying for it, and when they put out memos selectively using data attempting to show us how it’s not worse at all it is disrespectful and embarrassing.
I have it on good authority that recently Flight Ops finally DID push back on Network and tell them that their proposed schedule for summer and fall is unrealistic with regard to staffing and their ability to train. Now, what Network actually does with that dose of reality is anyone's guess.

The rising fuel prices and unrest with Russia could have a huge impact on future schedules.

I’m glad to hear that and hope Network listened. I also hope they threw some shade at Flight Ops top managers and earned them a spanking from Ed.

IMO the operating at Red Line article should have focused on fatiguing rotations and highlighted examples like multi leg 12 hr duty combined with short layovers, early report/late report flip flopping during a rotation etc etc. Highlighting record GSs does do much as the company is already hiring at max capacity, GSs are optional, and the Union got the company to agree to a 5 hr reduction of the GS trigger which naturally increases GSs significantly. Bottom line, the rotation quality needs to be improved to reduce fatigue, and and pilots should not hesitate to stop the operation when fatigued.

How does lowering the GS trigger increase the amount of GSs? Aren’t GSs just a result of a staffing shortage? Lowering the trigger just changes who can get them but if coverage is good, there are no GSs. Lowering ALV/TLV would have a bigger impact on number of GSs because it’s taking less hours to hit the ALV meaning more trips unbid.

And that's a fair point. If things go sideways in a big way in Europe and traffic plummets we could see things going the other way in a hurry.
