Search legal duty leave on Deltanet. There’s a link to submit your paperwork. They will get back to you in a day or two.

The pilot leaves page says it takes up to 10 days to process the request. I also found it interesting the company can ask for an excusal on your behalf. Is jury duty pay and credit or just pay if they drop a trip?

I've used an APD the last 3 bid periods. Sounds like my secret is out. They fixed the glitch.
Cool, but not exactly what it says. I could see the same company that considers sick use abuse of our contract to also say something like “you should know better” since the language says:

“An APD request will be granted if, at the time of processing…pilot has not been granted an APD since the first day of the bid period containing the last anniversary of their date of hire.”

Guys i think this is just a past practice argument, with a discussion on harm. The black and white, and intent, we get one apd. Theres a practice that started at some point of getting more, which the company fixed once someone shot their mouth off online about it (hi 4th floor). So is there harm to access? The pilots in question got days off without pay, so no theres no harm to the company- the pilots didnt steal money or cancel a flight with lost revenue by some nefarious means.

Next time u jokers figure that out, kept your ducking mouth shut on the web boards about it.

It gives the stipulations for when the company WILL grant an APD. It doesn't say a pilot may only use one APD in the specified period. There is nothing contractual prohibiting multiple APDs.

The company is the party that grants APD requests, not the pilot.

Even if the wording meant what you think (it doesn’t), the company would be violating the contract, not the pilot. We would be able to locate affected pilots who were improperly denied PDs, solely because the company improperly granted too many APDs.

Sick abuse is a completely different animal. The sick / well declaration is made by the pilot, not the company.

This seems like an odd hill to die on. Especially on a public forum.

“I took knowingly took multiple APDs, called it a “hack” instead of reporting it, and it was the company’s fault for not catching me.”

Everyone gets the same level of union representation in carpet dances though. You’ll be fine.

There is nothing that says you can't request additional APDs. The company chooses to award them, that's a them problem, not a me problem..
