He was (and probably is) a Delta pilot advocate. He wrote much of our current Section 1. He speaks the language and in contrast to other Delta managers who probably have no idea why we want, or need, scope; Desi gets it.

He does not tolerate fools or liars. I have no idea how he views folks on our negotiating committee. I hear he is working well with them. I have a lot of respect for the man’s abilities.

I guess when you are part of the conflict of interest, one shouldn’t expect you to be too worried about actual conflict of interest. IOW, your need to belong and be noticed is apparent.

Does an “honest” man go work for the other side for money? Using alllllll that ‘smart’ and uniquely qualified knowledge against us, and for the company?

Unless he is a double agent, how is that not on par with crossing a picket line? Honest question.

it’s not personal. Desi may be a great guy, but he works for management now. Don’t tell us he is a pilot advocate. That was yesterday. Today he sits across the table from us. Negotiating against us to get the most favorable deal for the company not for the pilots
Wake up

Another great Engage podcast just came out about the AIP. Explains a lot of things about it and why it is outside section 6.

-if we are voting on this separately, we need money( pay raise to go with it)
- What exactly is the benefit to pilots immediately? Not some down the road promise of growth.
- this is a total win for the company. They’ve wanted this for a long time
- just remember, DALPA negotiated the Pacific scope to replace the Nartita required slots.
after the LOA was signed, DAL shut down Narita flying and outsourced almost all of our Pacific flying
Less than 10yrs?
vote no

How do you know what you are voting on to vote one way or the other? I have thought more about this, and I think it is giving up leverage to have it separate, but still... we don't know anything about the language other than vague bullet points.

YGTBSM.... Picture the scene from Big Lebowski where John Goodman is destroying the Corvette and the phrase he uttered over and over. That is what he has done to us. Honest my ass. He's a ****ing traitor.

Also sets out that the 1:1 is WB growth. 757/321NEO specifically mentioned as being excluded.

As brought out by several folks, our Negotiators are smarter than to allow that massive loophole. There may be other weaknesses in the AIP, but that ain’t one apparently.

Engage/FAQ

The language isn't even complete and the MEC is already selling it. Does not give me confidence that we will get a comprehensive rundown of both the strengths and weaknesses of the deal from DALPA once it's complete, just a sell job.
