Passengers love the 787. I have two friends who are road warriors and they go out of there way to book it. Instead we will have our largest widebody fleet being a warmed over 45 year old design.

I'm so glad we're all back to fighting about which airline has the most high-paying wide bodies instead of which inflation stats are the most valid.
It's refreshing! |

It's refreshing! Fewest days worked per month for total credit > Fewest average days worked per month > Reroute hours to hours taken to retell the tale of the egregious reroute > Cost of layover meal or drinking binge paid by random celebrity or VIP that no one has ever heard of > Years, months, weeks, days being sodomized during BK/right seat stagnation/regional stagnation > mythical car driving victories in Porsche/Tesla/Corvette(no story with a Miata is ever cool) > money saved compared to the average clown on the newly purchased airplane/boat/car/house/spouse > how little weight gained since moving to a WB > percentage of pilots you’ve interacted with that are in lockstep agreement with your priors on the AIP |

Our largest wide body is the A350 which is more comfortable in a 3x3x3 configuration than a 787.

And Boeing is pure awesome… 30 years ago. |
Let's focus on UAL and AMR getting a few % more than the DAL AIP rates and continue to pattern our PWAs up for the entire industry.

They don’t ride in coach and they specifically claim the low cabin altitude combined with humidifiers has them feeling much better on arrival. Pilots I know flying it say the same thing.

There is an RFP out with the 78 vs the 350-1000. Maybe Delta is wising up that its better to have a mixed fleet. An all Airbus fleet doesn't nedcessarily help Delta.

Still, the A350 is physically larger than the 787; the Delta One suite is not lacking in terms of space.
The 350 also has the same low cabin altitude pressurization and higher humidity as the 787. Your friends may prefer the United product and the 787, but thats anecdotal. Cabin stays at 6k for short missions only, under 3 hours. The humidifier is an option, which we never purchased. |
