Aren't the 100 replacing the aging 777 and 767s?

"United will buy 787s to replace its entire 767 fleet by 2030 and some 777s"

United prior to this order had 8 widebodies on order. They need to replace 90 plus widebodies that are getting old. This is primarily a replacement order with little growth. The options on the other hand would be growth aircraft if exercised. The additional 737’s are 100% growth. They plan to hit the domestic markets hard. What that does to yields remains to be seen. They add 130 plus narrow bodies next year and this order keeps the narrow bodies coming fast and furious!

Meanwhile we can't even get our order for 20 more WB's together.

This tells you how bad our global AIP is going to be, if it really forced more wide body flying to be done by Delta they would need a WB order yesterday.

I just saw a whole bunch of Delta 787’s down in MEX. They were painted a little funny but the colors were right…

Yet we have a lot more growth widebodies coming than United.
