This will not help with pilot retention meaningfully but, in fact, increase costs to the airlines without getting anything in return. Unless this legislation is snuck into some must-pass bill, I don't see it surviving on its own.
ALPA was against 60 to 65 right up until they weren't.

ICAO will probably lead the way once again.

This is why you actually negotiate and make a fourth pillar in contract negotiations, make it less attractive to stay around if you can be collecting without working. The VEOP was an excellent example of this.

Spot on! The retirement pillar was kicked to the curb and on a whim I started the page. Some really smart, motivated pilots are on there in the same boat as me. We voted yes on the strike vote for the four pillars, not three. I walked the line during the NWA strike of '98 so I take the strike votes seriously. Have no idea if 67 will pass, but I couldn't just complain about the pension shortfall, time for action. We'll see how it goes.

Wow. So glad there's a thread on this subject. I've never seen one before.

Now let's all change each other's minds.

MOD INPUT

Mark, these threads have a tendency to devolve into a food fight. I wish you the best of luck in your endeavor, I won't delete this thread so as to allow your FB group the publicity, but I'm locking this thread down before it turns to crap.

Crewdawg - You beat me to it. I also went back and deleted some of the more juvenile comments.
