rATP already allows that, plenty of 21-23 year olds in 121 cockpits.

As long as they can pass a physical, then why not 16? It is all arbitrary right?

You're promoting having Lindsey Graham helping you? [MOD EDIT] He made a speech at GSP about it basically saying he knew best no matter what anyone else thought. Bought and paid for! Get a life and do some fishing or something.

I take comfort in knowing that every day 5-10 boomer pilots across the industry age out and become irrelevant to this conversation. The longer we’re able to stall any hope of age 67, the smaller, weaker and fainter their voice becomes.

I only care about the well-being of myself and my family. The more pilots who hit 65 and drop off the list, the better my QOL gets.

It’s ironic how a desperate plea for support by old people actually reenergizes the conversations among the growing younger pilot group to vehemently oppose this sad attempt by a bunch of sleepy pilots.

It won't matter what pilots think. ALPA unanimously voted agains age 65. IATA and A4A donations were what got that passed. But, as usual, the business lobby was seeking short term fixes and didn't realize the unintended consequences of raising the retirement age. The number of pilots that actually make it to 65 are not what they were hoping and the number being paid disability are quite high...If they could, I think A4A would lobby for a retirement age reduction, actually.

So. You can create FB pages and write your congressional reps as much as you like. Until you donate more to their collective "campaigns" than the business lobby groups, you are wasting your time.

According to several studies the average life expectancy for U.S. pilots is 67-years-old. Life is too short to fly to 67. Some pilots on their 3rd wife with multiple homes and expensive toys find themselves in a financial bind, probably don’t want to fly till 67 but have to.

I asked my FAA Dr (again) when I had my physical, he said it’s the most asked question. Also there is no medical reason for 60, 65 or 67.

That being said he added zero talk of it changing…

If you don't have enough saved for retirement, extending 2 years won't make a difference. The one thing I agree with Scott Kirby on were his comments a while back saying the only thing extending to age 67 will do is keep senior pilots on disability longer. This will not help with pilot retention meaningfully but, in fact, increase costs to the airlines without getting anything in return. Unless this legislation is snuck into some must-pass bill, I don't see it surviving on its own.
