There aren't 6 or 7 leg days on the 717. 5 leg days maybe during an IROP are extremely rare.

In 2015, there were 5-leg days on the 717. I flew BOS-LGA 5 times on day 1 of a trip many times.

Well here we are 11 years later without 5 leg days in the bid pack.

Are they still keeping the plane, pilots and FAs together? That makes a huge difference in QOL. I actually enjoyed the 4 and 5 leg days if we didn't have major weather and we kept the jet.

They've been pretty good about it for the most part.

Nope. I do almost exclusively ATL flying on the 737. The last month has been nothing but tail swaps in ATL, even on only 2 leg days. I think it’s still intact on the FA side but not for pilots any longer. I mentioned this change to my last captain and he agreed he’d noticed the change. I know this is a 717 thread but I wouldn’t be surprised if that change filters down to all the other domestic fleets soon.

It used to be fine on the 717, then it got terrible, and now its pretty good again. As with all things, it ebbs and flows. But, in my experience, they've been pretty good about keeping crews with airplanes. The only exceptions are IROPs and long sits.

You are absolutely 100% keeping the airplane all day if the APU is MEL'd.

Over the past couple of months, I have rarely kept the same FAs for an entire trip. Also, I've had a lot of 2ish hour sits in ATL. Some of which has paid of with reroutes. I'm not complaining, but this is my experience as of late.

Not so bad. Flight times per leg 20-38ish minutes.
Senior trips show around 0600, finish 1000-1230.

Not sure how they do it now, but the old “shuttle trips” were easy flying. 4-5 legs a day but you kept the plane, same gates, same freqs, no bag or pax issues, never early never late (unless IROPs in which case a turn would cancel anyway) good BOS layovers and, at the time, free food and magazines (for the overnight).

It’s about much more than legs per day. I’d rather do 4-5 legs a day keeping the jet than fewer legs but changing planes every flight.
