Now if your a fly-a-holic you'll probably make more by not commuting than any payrates will make up for.
I know this is talking about SK vs DL, but don't most people even at UA (including commuters) sit LCR at home? 12 hr callout even on reserve seems pretty commutable.. seems like a small window they would have to call in for you to not be able to commute in the next morning?

that small window is what made it not commutable, and the change to 18 hours fixed it for many commuters here.

Interesting. I know UA ALPA has said they agreed upon longer callout times but nothing has been specified. I'm wondering what those times are going to be. Seems like it really won't take much more than 12 hours to be fully easily commutable from any airport with decent flight options.

I believe UA also has unlimited short call conversions, as well as mandatory airport appreciation. (FSB, hot reserve)

The current negotiating updates look like they will fix a LOT of the reserve issues at UAL. However, there is still a lot of missing details. "Longer LCR callout", but no specific number.

They say "long call reserve lines where SC and FSB are only by pickup", but they don't say if the company sets how many of those long call lines will be available. Are there 10 of them? unlimited? No idea yet.

There's a thing about limiting SC conversions.

Other stuff, but without specifics yet.

So, yeah. I have no doubt our reserve will improve, but....by how much? We shall see, hopefully soon.
