I've been buying Calvin Klein Suit Separates pants from Macy's for about the last 15 years. Usually about $100/pair, tailoring included (for those of you that care. But let's not open THAT can o' worms lol) Look great, very cool and comfortable, hold a crease well and extremely durable. Really hoping they can match the color on the new uniforms 🙏

For those in the know- will we be required to choose between one or the other with regard to the new jacket options? Is the double breasted going away at some point???

Old uniform shirt grey from age with pit stains and it's like cheesecloth it's so old, quadruple knit polyester uniform pants that are shiny from wear, and are snapping in the breeze because they're ankle height, and trashed out shoes that last saw a buffing cloth in 1993 are all OK because they're "official". But a smart jacket that no one will ever see is a no go. That's the world these guys live in.

Going forward both single- and double-breasted will be allowed. So there's goes the concept of "uniformity" out the window, although that flew out the window with the FA's a long time ago. When it come to the new uniforms each pilot will be able to choose which one they want. One poll I saw showed roughly 2/3 were going to opt for double and 1/3 were single.

Thank you for validating my post. I know you don’t want to believe that you’re “that guy”, it’s a hard pill to swallow. Have fun making it through the SEA terminals handing out uniform demerits! Should be fun!

As a captain, I don’t / won’t “enforce” that.

During the mask mandate I was talking to a FA at another carrier about all the drama that it's causing with the passengers. I really liked her approach: "I'm an informer, not an enforcer."

I wear my North Face jacket from my car to the gate area exclusively in winter. Then, near the gate, I put it away and pull my actual uniform jacket and hat out of the suitcase and pack the North Face away.

I'm not waiting for an employee bus in the parking lot in sub-freezing weather wearing an outfit meant for indoor heated building use. Nor am I wearing a hat on my head for the following 20 minutes on the way to the gate.

The SEA CPO can EABOD. There is nothing wrong with wearing a north face on a DH or in the airport as long as you aren't wearing your hat. The CPO doesn't get to make up rules especially when they quoted the rule immediately before making up a new one.. There is nothing against the FOM with wearing your uniform shirt under another indistinguishable outer garment.
